London Mayoral Elections
We are asking all candidates the London mayoral elections to sign these 4 pledges to show their commitment to climate justice:
Zero Carbon by 2030
Commit to a Green New Deal that will make London a zero-carbon city by 2030. This means ensuring all infrastructure plans are in line with climate action, and opposing damaging projects such as airport expansions.
Green Housing
Ensure that all new buildings are carbon neutral and implement a programme to retrofit all existing homes to be well insulated. Ensure every person has access to a safe, green home.
Green Transport
Prioritise accessible, genuinely affordable and green public transport as well as investing in cycling and walking infrastructure.
Empower Londoners
Ensure there is transparent and accessible communication with the public, with genuine political and economic decision-making power given to the local communities, especially young people and marginalised groups, most affected by climate breakdown and the transition to a zero carbon world.
